South Padre Island Unit

Surf fishing is available along the Gulf of Mexico beach of the South Padre Island Unit.Refuge property is located north of the paved Padre Blvd. Fishing is allowedon the beach only, and can be accessed on foot or by vehicle through the South Padre Island public beach access areas.

Bahia Grande Unit

Fishing inSan Martin Lake in the Bahia Grande Unit is allowed via the Highway 48 Boat Launch operated by Cameron County Parks. Only non-motorized boats may enter San Martin Lake. All other waters in the Bahia Grande unitare currently CLOSED to boats and are classified asnon-navigablewaters. Bank fishing ispermitted between Highway 48 and the Refuge Boundary signs.

Laguna Atascosa Unit

The Cameron County Park System leases Refuge property along the Arroyo Colorado to operate the Adolph Thomae Jr. County Park. Thispark in Arroyo Cityprovides great fishing opportunities at its fishing piers and has a boat launch to access the river and/or the Laguna Madre. Thepark alsoprovides RV and tent campsites, as well as restroom facilities. Call 956-748-2044 for more information about the park or visit the website
