Eighty percent of visitor entrance fees are used for projects on the Refuge so know that most of your money directly benefits Santa Ana NWR.

The Nature Store:
The Santa Ana NWR Visitor Center has a nature store operated by the Friends of Santa Ana NWR (a.k.a. The Friends of the Wildlife Corridor). Here you will find excellent wildlife-related items, including field guides, children's books, hummingbird feeders, t-shirts, hats, and much more. All proceeds from the nature store benefit the Santa Ana and Lower Rio Grande Valley NWRs.

Volunteers:
Join the many volunteers that help make Santa Ana NWR the amazing place that it is! Volunteers spend their time leading nature walks, conducting environmental education classes for kids, leading canoe trips on the Rio Grande, working in the native plant nursery, staffing the Visitor Center, and working on challenging maintenance projects that help keep the Refuge running smoothly. If you would like to know more about the volunteer program, please contact the Refuge's Volunteer Coordinator at 956-784-7500.

How to Get Here: Refuge headquarters is located seven miles south of Alamo, Texas, on FM 907 about 1/4 mile east on U.S. Highway 281.
