International Migratory Bird Day: May 12th—come celebrate with bird walks, activities, and more!

Endangered Species Day: May 18th, Program at 2:00-3:00 pm on Endangered species with a focus on Texas species.

Endangered Species Day:  May 20, 12 - 4.  Discover some of the valley's endangered wildlife and what is being done to help them.  Activities include an Ocelot Talk at 12:30, an Alligator Talk at 2:15, and an ongoing sea turtle exhibit.  FREE with entrance fee.

Mammal Walk: Fridays at 10am, Come join a ranger while they show you all about the mammals that live at Santa Ana NWR.

Girl Scout Day Camps: April 28th, May 5th, May 19th, and June 2nd from 10:00 am- Noon.  Girls are welcome to come and sign up for the camp and register for Girl Scouts.  Call Christine for further information:  956-849-4930.

Talk and tour to learn about and see the American Alligator. Sign up at the visitor center the day of the tour. Sundays, 2-4 pm

Focus on shorebirds as they stop at these wetlands to fuel up for their journey north. Other species may include Aplomado falcon, cactus wren, and Nilgai antelope. Bring your camera, tripod and instruction manual and be prepared for scenic, cluse-up and flash photographs. Meet the refuge van at the Port Isabel HEB parking lot.
