Canoe Tours

The Rio Grande below Falcon Dam is a clear stretch of river whose surface occasionally reveals an ancient oyster bed and whose surrounding trees offer good views of brown jays, Audubon's orioles, Muscovy ducks and more. This trip is always different due to ever-changing water levels that fluctuate according to the needs of farmers irrigating downstream. The paddle typically takes about two hours on the river and is geared toward novices interested in enjoying the wilderness of the Rio Grande.

Bring your binoculars, sun protection, insect repellent, snacks and footwear you don't mind getting wet! Canoeing the Rio Grande
